Selection & enquiry guidance

Choosing load binders for the application

Load binders tension suitable lashing-chain restraint systems. The binder must match the chain, connection points and restraint arrangement, and equipment intended for load restraint must not be assumed suitable for overhead lifting.

Chain compatibility

Provide the lashing chain size or specification and the existing system details.

Restraint arrangement

Describe the load, connection points and how the chain will be tensioned.

Quantity and replacement

If replacing equipment, send photographs, markings and dimensions of the existing binder.

Common questions

Load binders enquiries

What information is needed for a load binder quotation?

Send the chain specification, restraint arrangement, binder type if known, quantity and delivery postcode. Photographs help with replacement requirements.

Can a load binder be used for lifting?

Load restraint equipment must not be assumed suitable for lifting. If the requirement is overhead lifting, ask for lifting-rated equipment intended for that duty.

Need help specifying the requirement?

Send the application details you have and the Durham Lifting team can review what is needed for a quotation.
